Conventional vs. Immediate Dentures
If you need a complete denture, there are two ways to approach timing:

Conventional dentures are made after your teeth are removed and your gum tissue has fully healed—typically 4 to 6 weeks. During that healing period, you'll be without teeth.

Immediate dentures are custom-made in advance and placed immediately after your teeth are removed, so you're never without teeth while they heal. Once your tissue has healed and settled, adjustments are made to perfect the fit.
